SO COIL CAP is a flexible pvc capping seal for use with 3mm-5mm resilient floorcoverings.
The capping seal is used to finish the top of a resilient floorcovering where it has been coved up the wall and is usually used in conjunction with a cove former.
Supplied in 25m coils to reduce the quantity of vertical joints on installation.
Installation
SO COIL CAP should be allowed to acclimatise for 24 hours prior to installation at an ambient temperature of 18
o Celsius.
- It should be ensured that all surfaces to which the profile is to be fixed are sound, dry, flat and free from any contaminants. Wall surfaces should be free from any previous coverings, linings or adhesive residues used to fix them. Paint films and any mould must be removed and the affected surface treated correctly.
- Mark the position of the top of the capping seal on the wall and strike a straight line between the two points using a chalk line.
- Apply a suitable contact adhesive and follow the manufacturers instructions for application.
- Bring both surfaces together and apply even pressure along the capping seal ensuring any air bubbles are removed and full contact is made with the wall.
- All internal corners should be mitre cut. External corners may be mitre cut or wrapped around the corner providing adequate provision is taken to allow the floorcovering to be installed. It can then be fitted into the top channel of the capping seal.
